Robert Egbe

Position: Media and Communication Officer

Robert Egbe holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Calabar and brings over a decade of journalism experience.

He has covered diverse areas such as sports, the judiciary, domestic and sexual violence, religion, fact-checking, and natural and man-made disasters, including floods in Northern Nigeria and oil spills in the Niger Delta.

His extensive background includes notable achievements, such as being a runner-up at the Nigeria Media Merit Award in the Union Bank Prize for Banking & Finance Reporter of the Year category for his investigative piece on banks and their customers’ legal battles.

In 2022, Egbe formalized his fact-checking expertise by completing the Fact-checking Masterclass for Anglophone Countries GNS training organized by Africa’s leading fact-checking institution, the Code for Africa (CfA).

His dedication to journalism and commitment to accuracy have been further recognized, as in 2023, he was one of only three Nigerian journalists chosen by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMFG) to cover the Grand Challenges Meeting in Senegal.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Robert Egbe is passionate about social justice.
